Cookie policy.

The short version: we don't use tracking cookies, we don't use advertising cookies, we don't have analytics on this site. Almost everything below is about third-party content we embed.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website saves on your device when you visit. It can remember preferences (like your language choice) or, more controversially, track you across sites. Some "cookies" are actually local storage or similar browser technologies — we use the word loosely here to cover all of them.

Greek and EU law (ePrivacy Directive, transposed into Greek Law 3471/2006 and aligned with the GDPR) require us to be honest about which cookies we use, get your consent for non-essential ones, and let you opt out at any time.

2. Cookies we set ourselves

None.

This is a static website. We don't run analytics on it, we don't show ads, and we don't have user accounts or shopping carts. There is no first-party cookie or local-storage entry set by gs-vibes.gr.

3. Cookies set by third parties whose content we embed

Several pages embed content from external services. When those services load, they may set their own cookies in your browser. We have no control over those cookies — they're governed by the policies of each provider.

Set on most pages

  • Google Fonts
fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com — used to load Playfair Display and Inter typefaces. Google may log your IP address; it does not, as far as we know, set tracking cookies for font requests, but it could.

Set only on the homepage

  • Google Maps
The embedded map in the Location section. Sets several cookies including NID, SOCS, and others used for personalisation and security.
  • Room2Let booking widget
The iframe embedding the booking calendar may set session cookies for that platform.

For details on what these third parties do with cookies and how to opt out, see their own policies:

4. What's "essential" vs "optional"

Under EU law, only "strictly necessary" cookies can be set without your consent.

5. How to control cookies

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. The downside of blocking everything is that some third-party content (most notably the Google Map on our location page) will not load.

Privacy-respecting alternatives

If you want to browse the web without third-party tracking generally, consider Brave or DuckDuckGo's browser, or install Privacy Badger in your existing browser. Our site works perfectly with strict tracking protection — only the embedded Google Map will fall back to a "click to load" placeholder.

6. Why there's no cookie banner

The big intrusive cookie banners you see on most sites exist because those sites use analytics and advertising cookies that legally require consent. We don't, so we don't need one. The third-party embeds (Maps, Room2Let widget) are placed only on pages where you might reasonably expect them to be — and you can choose not to visit those, or block the third-party cookies in your browser.

If we ever add analytics or any other non-essential cookies, we'll add a proper consent banner first.

7. Changes to this policy

If we add new embeds or features that change which cookies are set, we'll update this page. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
